The Villedor Security Forces (VSF), or simply known to its residents as the 'Military, were the unnamed military forces of Villedor and the nation the city was located in, if any, in the city of Villedor during the events of Dying Light 2: Stay Human.

The Villedor Security Forces are a combination of numerous European militaries, which relocated to Villedor along with members of the Council of Mankind. At least the French Armed, the German Bundeshwehr and the Polish Armed Forces.

Leading up to Black Monday[]

The Military, under the leadership of General Buran planned to release what they believed to be a vaccine into the air, most members unaware that it was poison. General Buran decided to release the "Vaccine" into the air against the advice of the GRE, and refused to grant them the one more day they asked for in order to get rid of the side effects, which proved to be deadly. The reason General Buran ignored the GRE’s advice is unknown — it could have been mistrust, impatience, or arrogance. What is known is that he did not anticipate the toxin’s effects to be as deadly as they became, as depicted in "Banshee - I Am The Cure".

After the bombings commenced and the city got covered in chemicals, the situation quickly spiraled out of control. Colonel Chris Williams attempted to do damage control by organizing the remained of the VSF and civilians. Although VSF members had been warned, Major Jack Matt did not relay the order, resulting in misattributed blame toward Colonel Williams.

After that, the military descended into chaos and started to fight each other. The Peacekeepers under Major Jack Matt and the VSF Under Colonel Chris Williams, later more commonly referred to as "The Renegades". Colonel Chris Williams started to evacuate civilians and military personnel to the Lower Dam Ayre, which he turned into a settlement protected by the VSF, now referred to by the Peacekeepers as "Renegades". Afterwards, what remained of the VSF stayed in the Lower Dam Ayre in order to maintain and guard the settlement, which is akin to a military-controlled "Safe Zone".

Note: The "Renegades" seen inside of Villedor itself are not the remainder of the VSF, as those Renegades are mutated and indentured servants of Dr. Vincent Waltz, the last of the VSF can only be located in the Lower Dam Ayre.
