Seref Hasan followed to former head of security for the survivors at the Tower, Roy Hanson. After a falling out, Hanson and a group of survivors left the Tower and made a group to establish another safe zone in the former public housing estate known as the Slabs.
They fortified the area and electrified the fence, but when Hanson was killed by infected after falling off the roof; Seref and rest of his survivors were trapped on the roof, as only Roy had keys to disable electrified traps. Seref became new leader of his group.
After 14 days of being trapped, Seref and other remaining survivors commited suicide with Hanson's cyanide pills prefering death over cannibalism, as Seref called it, they would become only smarter biters by eating each other.
