"Live. Laugh. Learn." Harran Public School motto
|
Overview[]
The Harran Public School is a location featured in Dying Light. At the start of the outbreak, the school was used as a quarantine zone, but the enclave collapsed. Eventually the infected were cleared out and the school once again became a safe zone.
It initially served as an outpost for Kadir "Rais" Suleiman and his gang, in which they stored dynamite and other supplies. During the main story quest Siblings, Jade Aldemir and Kyle Crane infiltrate the school and confront the thugs, killing many and forcing the rest to flee.
After the bandits are expelled, former governor Erol Asani and his small group of survivors take refuge within the school afterwards. Erol is joined by his niece Saliha, and grandnephew Eren. They are all protected by Edward, their bodyguard.
Eccentric inventors Tolga and Fatin briefly shelter within the walls of the school.

Main Quest[]
During the main quest line, Crane visits the school in a quest called Siblings; accompanied by Jade, they attempt to discover the reason why Rais' men are using the building as a base of operations. After killing several bandits, some of which carry weapons, they eventually descend into the basement of the school. They find numerous boxes which are full of ordinance and explosives; Jade realizes that Rahim will inevitably be interested in the explosives because he hopes to destroy the hive, a skyscraper full of volatiles. Instead, she takes the explosives to Sa'id to ensure that Rahim doesn't obtain them.
Crayons for the Kids[]
Crane can travel to the school and complete a quest where he obtains crayons for the children living in the tower. The school's safe zone contains the crayons, which can be found in various packs.
Interior[]
The Harran Public School is similar to many other educational institutions; it has a standard layout of corridors with adjacent classrooms either side. However, in its post-apocalyptic state, the classrooms are now home to weaponry, military gear and loot. As Rais' thugs have overtaken the school, they've reappropriated it for themselves and fitted it with everything they need to dominate Harran. Despite this, many regular school paraphernalia still exist, such as books, stationary and demonstration equipment. Most notable of these is probably a life-size skeleton.
