"To survive in the city, I needed a biomarker: a device that would show the status of my infection. And Hakon--the man who saved me from the murderous crowd--knew where to find one."
Quest description.

Getting Stronger is the second Story Quest in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Objectives[]

Objective icon
Follow Hakon.
Hakon said I was weak, and that I needed something called an "inhibitor" to regain my strength. He injected the first dose in me while we were still in his hideout. He said I wouldn't have survived without it.

Objective icon
Search the roof for loot.
On the way, Hakon showed me a chest that contained valuables. Apparently, there are chests like this to be found in the city. But for now, it was a biomarker I needed, not treasure.

Objective icon
Follow Hakon.
The Peacekeepers--the local law enforcement--saved a woman from the infected right in front of us. Despite that, Hakon told me that locals and Peacekeepers didn't get along. He told me to be careful with them. And not long after that, we found a mysterious chest.

Objective icon
Search the airdrop.
Looters had already broken into the chest. But with the GRE key I had with me, I opened a hidden compartment within it. There, we found electronics that Hakon said we could trade for a biomarker... as long as we survived the infected who had just come out to feed.

Objective icon
Get to the Safe Zone.
AAt the GRE chest, I told Hakon where I got the key. But it didn't matter at the time, as we had to run like crazy to escape the infected. And when we reached the Safe Zone, they wouldn't let us in, all because I didn't have a goddamn biomarker. Luckily, Hakon had a plan B.

Objective icon
Follow Hakon.
Hakon thought we could escape from the virals if we reached the flat of some guy named Cillian. Except Cillian wasn't home... or he refused to let us in. Suddenly, we were trapped between a locked door and a horde of virals. It was either them or us.

Objective icon
Kill the Virals.
I killed one viral after another, but new ones kept coming. We finally got a breather, but Hakon and I both knew it was only a matter of time before new virals would arrive. We needed shelter if we wanted to survive until morning.

Objective icon
Help Hakon.
Cillian finally let us in. He was the guy Hakon wanted to buy the biomarker from. Unfortunately, Cillian didn't have one... or so he claimed. Besides, it seemed that Cillian and Hakon weren't on good terms. Fortunately, Hakon had another way to get a biomarker. There was a hospital... But first, I needed to get some sleep.

Objective icon
Go to sleep!

Walkthrough[]

As Aiden is about to turn after escaping Waltz and his men, the survivors of the Bazaar try hanging Aiden, but he is saved by Hakon who throws a throwing knife to cut the rope and get Aiden to the workshop of his friends, Jana and Sarah in Houndfield. He gives Aiden some Inhibitors which, combined with Sarah knocking Aiden out, is able to halt the virus before Aiden fully turns.

Aiden will wake up tied up, but alive. Despite pressure from Sarah, Hakon refuses to kill Aiden, but Sarah and Jana refuse to let Aiden stay the night so Hakon tries to bring Aiden someplace else for shelter. Aiden will mention having to go to the Fish Eye, to which Hakon responds that without a Biomarker Aiden won't get near it. Hakon will also explain that a Biomarker tracks the progression of the infection in the body, showing how long someone has before they turn. Knowing where to find one, Hakon chooses to guide Aiden forward. Aiden will then get under player control again. One can choose to speak to Sarah and Jana, though this is not required to progress the quest. A collectable, the Infected Playing Card - Ace of Spades - Demolisher, can also be found next to the two women. Exit the building through the door to enter a conversation with Hakon.

Aiden will again mention the Fish Eye, to which Hakon responds by stating the only way to get there is through the tunnel, which is well protected and near impossible to get through. When pressed about the tunnel, Hakon will again point out that without a biomarker Aiden is a threat and won't get far. He will state that everyone in Villedor is infected and that the walls surrounding Villedor - which were meant to isolate it like those of Harran did - were the thing that saved the people in the city. After ending the conversation, follow Hakon over the rooftops of Old Villedor. He will lead Aiden to a Roof Grove where craft parts and a crystal core are found.

After looting the place, follow Hakon again who will lead Aiden to a Military Airdrop. Along the way, a group of Peacekeepers can be seen fighting infected and protecting a survivor called Lena. After seeing them fight, and learning a bit more about them, the two proceed to the airdrop to find it looted. Using the GRE Access Key, Aiden is able to get some electronics out of the airdrop, which Hakon takes. As night falls, Hakon decides that the best move is to head for the safety of the Bazaar, so follow him there.

Upon arrival at the Bazaar, they refuse to let Hakon and Aiden in due to Aiden not having a Biomarker, and turn off the UV lighs at the Bazaar exterior to force them to move away. With a Howler having spotted the two, Hakon tells Aiden to follow him as he heads for Cillian's Hideout. Before Cillian turns on his UV lamps, a short fight with the chasing Virals will have to be fought. Cillian will initially refuse to let the pair in, but upon seeing the electronics that Hakon holds, and after learning who Aiden is, he changes his mind. After a brief conversation, Hakon leaves. One can choose to speak to Cillian again though this is not required to finish the quest. Whether spoken to Cillian or not, sleeping in the bedroll will complete the quest.
