"Dropkick" is an Agility skill in Dying Light

Overview[]

The move is executed in mid-air by running, jumping and kicking in one fluent motion. Due to a small delay that happens after performing it, using it on crowds will result in loss of health. Fall damage is increased when dropkick is used. Despite all these flaws however, it does have purpose. It can knock down most enemies and is unlocked before Brutal Grapple and Tackle while also being non-reliant on the opponent's mobility.

Otherwise, strategies will be discussed below

Tactics[]

  • One can cancel the recovery animation of this skill if they use a Shield or Grappling Hook.
  • Can be used after a Vault if the player doesn't have Drop Attack
  • Can occasionally be used to stagger and knock back Goons and Demolishers to give one's self breathing space.
  • Can be used along with the Pyza Suit to perform a 'Glide Kick'. The player must end the drop kick animation (Let go of L2 / LT / MMB) before initiating the Dropkick (Pressing L1 / LB / E). The Sprint Button (L3 / LS / Shift) MUST be held throughout the duration of the 'Glide Kick'.
    • This maneuver allows for extended range of the Dropkick though it is highly suggested to use this trick on higher ground.
  • Dropkicks can also be used against the Night Hunter, dealing 1/3rd of damage to its HP.
  • Since performing a drop kick stops players in their tracks, it can be useful against enemies on ledges when compared to Tackle or Leg Breaker to also avoid falling off the ledge.

Trivia[]

  • There have been certain events when Dropkick power is increased, resulting in enemies sent flying upon being hit by a dropkick
