Derek is one of the characters who appear in Dying Light 2 Stay Human.

Biography[]

Derek is a member of the Carriers Guild and was a very devoted member. He was eventually expelled from the guild on account of his radical views and was ostracized by his former Carriers. Derek was suspected of murdering Carriers which caused him to seek out the true culprits. Carrier and Pilgrim Aiden Caldwell was suspicious of Derek after a threatening encounter. Aiden seeks out the missing Carrier Mike after a distressing call but finds he has become an Infected and kills him. He suspects Derek was behind the murders but is proven wrong when he saves him from Renegades. Aiden races back to protect the Carriers Guild HQ after the marauders had attacked it. Derek is finally cleared from blame when it was revealed Waltz was the true orchestrator on the attempted destruction of the guild so he could have access to their valuable archives and maps. Aiden is promoted to Elite Carrier and is given the option to reinstate Derek in the guild or have access to Elite Carrier lockers. If he chooses the former Derek will thank him personally at the Fish Eye Canteen and reward him.
