Characters

Characters are the persons driving the storyline of the Dying Light series. There are seven types of characters within the DL series:

Playable Characters[]

Main article: Protagonist

Protagonists are the main characters in the Dying Light games and are the characters the player acts as.

Non-Playable Characters (NPCs)[]

Antagonist

The Antagonist is the main enemy of the protagonist, who generally makes the life of the protagonist difficult. An example of an antagonist is Kadir "Rais" Suleiman from Dying Light.

Main Characters

Main Characters are characters who play a significant role in the game, typically giving the protagonists quests or otherwise playing a large role in the game. Harris Brecken, for example, was one of the main characters in Dying Light.

Supporting Characters

Supporting Characters are characters who do not play a large role in the Dying Light games but do have an impact on the storyline. For example, Hassan Suleiman in Dying Light was killed in a infected related incident but was not a key character throughout the game. His death, however, becomes particularly important as it plays a major role in Rais's life.

Random Characters

Random Characters are minor characters that appear at random locations throughout the game, giving the protagonist optional objectives.

Bandits

Bandits are characters that are hostile to the protagonist, but are also hostile to other survivors as well.

Mentioned Characters

Mentioned Characters (also known as Unseen Characters) are characters mentioned during game dialogue in Dying Light games but are not seen during the games themselves. An example being Hassan Suleiman, who is mentioned in Dying Light.
