Blades are a type of sharp melee weapon featured in Dying Light.
Occupying in a fast weapon position, they are effective weapons against fast enemies such as Virals, especially when aiming and swinging at vital areas quickly.

- In real life, many of the blades in-game actually serve as cutting tools.
- Billhooks are used in agriculture and forestry for cutting shrubs and branches.
- Woodman's Pals (known as the Hook Blade in-game) are designed for trimming, pruning, and remove unwanted growth.
- Currently, there are no new variants of Blade in The Following.
- Jade Aldemir uses a Guthook Blade during her rescue in The Museum.
- Rais uses the Rusty Reed Knife to cut off Osman's hand in Pact with Rais. After the cutscene ends, it can be found on the table where Osman sat in, and it can be used by the player.
