Bats are a type of blunt melee weapon featured in Dying Light.

They are relatively common weapons, one of the weapons you might receive from the Quartermaster. As a weapon used for breaking skulls open, it is advised to use them against weaker enemies and aim for headshots for effective attacks.

Trivia[]

  • In real life, Bats (in both Baseball and Cricket) are equipment used by batsmen/batters to hit the ball thrown by the pitcher in Baseball or the bowler in Cricket.
  • The Cricket Bat is a possible reference to the Shaun of the Dead (2004) film, where one of the main character's weapon is a Cricket bat.
  • Many of the bats in the game contain different unique labels and text on them. Below are the following,
    • Classic Baseball Bat — A B logo on the bat, along with text saying "Power Play" and underneath it, "Made in China".
    • Composite Baseball Bat — text saying "Ripper".
    • Cricket Bat — 20/20 number.
    • Remarkable Composite Baseball Bat — text saying "War Chief" and having an image of a war chief.
    • Ferocious Baseball Bat — ?
    • Green Reaper — two texts saying "Reaper".
    • Harran Strikers Bat and Harran Gentlemen's Club — S logo.
    • Loco — Money dollar signs along with the text "Rich".
    • Wicked Baseball Bat and Deadly Baseball Bat — "Fight" text.
    • Premium Baseball Bat — 13 number along with a checkered design.
    • Superior Cricket Bat — text saying "War Chief" with images of barbed wire and a war chief.
    • Bonebreaker Cricket Bat — Image of a skull with a helmet and crossed bones.
    • Dragon Cricket Bat — Image of a Chinese dragon.
    • Skullcracker Cricket Bat — ?
  • Oddly, the Deadly Baseball Bat should be technically be titled Deadly Cricket Bat instead, as the bat isn't a baseball bat.
