Walkthrough[]

Having spoken to Atilla during the previous quest and restored his electricity, he is able to continue working on his research. Crane offers to be a field agent and has to investigate three ancient monoliths and report what he sees to Atilla.

One of the monoliths is located due north of the Mansion, another is located far to the northwest of the Mansion and the last one is located due south of it.

"Okay... If one of those monoliths was supposed to be here, it either evaporated or something pushed it into the water..."
Kyle Crane

The southern one is located at a rocky hill, some Infected have made the place their home, including a Demolisher. Upon reaching the monument site, it becomes clear that the monolith has fallen into the water, so jump down to find it. It is located due south of the rocky hill. After investigating it, Crane will contact Atilla.

The northern monolith is located on a large rocky island surrounded by water. Crane will have to climb to the top to investigate the monolith. A jutting stone on the northeastern side of the rock is the starting point of the climb. Climb up further until a platform is reached, from there, move around to the other side of the rock. Another jutting stone is seen on the eastern wall, climb up to reach another platform with a jutting rock. Shimmy across the jutted rock and jump to another platform on the western side of the island. Keep moving the island and jump up the platforms until a dead end is met. Several stones are located in the wall which can be used to climb up. After this, the top of the rock is reached. Be mindful as three crawling infected are located here. Dispatch them and investigate the monolith to update Atilla.

The western monolith is located on a small island in the middle of a lake, where two Toads are standing nearby atop rocks. Dispatch them and investigate the monolith, after which Atilla will be updated by Crane.

After having investigated all three monoliths, Atilla wishes that Crane investigates the Temple of the Sun, deep in the mountains. It is located due west of the western monolith. A small dirt road, connected to a main road, leads up to the mountainside where jutting rocks can be used to climb up. From there, follow the stone walls and orange cloth across several platforms. After crossing a tree, use the jutting rocks to shimmy further over to the other side and jump to the next two platforms. From there, a small cave with a symbol of the Sun is found. Jump over there and keep going. Be careful not to fall at the end of the cave. After exiting the cave, head west and cross another tree. Atilla will contact Crane again at this point.

Keep following the path and jump up the platforms. After climbing up a platform it appears to be a dead end with a large ravine, but alongside the eastern wall a plank leads to a small platform from which the other side can be reached. Shortly thereafter, a monolith is found, investigate it and move further down the path. Be sure to look around carefully, as from this point onward a lot of jumping to isolated wooden platforms and beams is required. Upon reaching the top of the mountain, Crane will contact Atilla again. Investigate the area. On the northwestern side is a monolith, and around the center of the top of the mountain is a mass grave with pots and skeletons. There is also a red mask in this grave, so pick it up. After doing so, Atilla will ask Crane to come back. The fastest way down is to jump down into the water near the monolith. From there, return to the mansion and speak to Atilla to complete the quest.
